About The Sprocket Holes
We're a monthly film discussion club focused on thrillers, noir, mysteries, and crime drama. These genres are our bread and butter, but we're game for any compelling cinema—whether it's a classic noir or something that defies easy categorization.
We dig into the full spectrum of these worlds too: neo-noir, erotic thrillers, tech-noir, acid noir, and retrofuturism. If it shares DNA with what we love, it's fair game.
How We Meet
We gather once a month on Zoom at 5 PM. Each session has up to 12 active speakers diving deep into the film, with space for observers to join us. If you're new or prefer to listen first, we welcome that—there's no pressure to jump in immediately.
Observers can post questions in the chat, though we can't guarantee every question gets addressed (it depends on where the conversation is flowing). If you become a regular observer and want to contribute, we're happy to bring you into a trial run as a speaking member. It's a low-pressure way to test the waters.

To keep things fun and focused, we ask that everyone:
- Keep the discussion on film and filmmaking
- Leave recordings off—this is a live conversation space, not a broadcast
- Treat each other with respect (no hatred, bigotry, or unnecessary politics)
- Come with genuine interest in the films and each other's perspectives
We're here to have a good time talking about movies we love. That's it.
